Thursday Seth's class took their first field trip to the fire station. I went along to play photographer for the teacher. The fire station is within walking distance of the school:
First we watched a video about fire safety, and then the firefighters answered the kids' questions.
They opened every compartment on the outside of the truck and let the kids see all the things stocked on a fire truck. They turned on the lights (but not the sirens) and showed us the inside of the ambulance.
One of the firemen suited up so the kids could see what they looked like in their garb.
The kids were perfect (even the troublemaker). I was glad I could join them on their first adventure!
