Sunday we took Nathan for his first-ever trip to our children's museum. My biggest beef with the place is that grown-ups have to pay admission. The zoo, the science museum? I get the fee. But at the children's museum, I'm there to supervise and interact with my child. Educationally, I'm not getting a whole lot out of the trip! I had a coupon for one free admission, and we'll count that as mine, because Nathan got his $7 worth of play in!
There was a special brain awareness event going on. Out on the deck, they had cadaver brains. I was proud of my family for being polite enough to listen to the med student's info. As Seth and I walked away, Amelia pulled Nathan aside and whispered, "can I touch the brain?" Might just take after her mommy, after all. (The smell took me back to my anatomy lab days, yuck.)
