Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday

Due to the fact that Elise won't be allowed to travel at Christmas, we celebrated Thanksgiving for the third year in a row in Kings Mountain.  Also for the third year in a row, Chad, Nathan, and I signed up for the Turkey Trot in Charlotte.  Chad ran a half marathon the week after Nathan's half ironman.  Between sickness and overcommitting to things at Seth's school, I haven't been running.  To say we were underprepared is an understatement.  It was a beautiful morning, and we all had great runs.  Chad took a couple minutes off his run, I took 40 seconds off mine (and finished smiling, may I add...I maybe should have pushed a little harder), an Nathan finished between his two times.  This year, they gave all the finishers medals (it wasn't until after we took this picture that I realized we all matched!):
We snacked the rest of the morning away.  I don't know how Elise did it, but she got all the kids to sit down to watch Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving:
Grandmommy and Granddaddy joined us again.  Here is the view from Grandma Sarah's end of the table:

Marie, Elise, and I went Black Friday shopping.  I don't recommend going at midnight if you're not going for a big ticket item.
After allowing the moms to get a couple hours' of sleep, the men headed out for a nice morning of golf.
More on how we spent the rest of the weekend in a later post!
